Make Mum Feel Special This Mother's Day

Despite a bit of set back this week, I've been happy to see the first signs of spring finally on its way! I've been wearing my sunglasses, enjoying the warmth of the beautiful spring sunshine, and even had a cheeky ice cream last weekend! I also caught a glimpse of the first daffodils blooming and thought of one special person who would love such a sight... my Mum!

It will be time to celebrate our wonderful and beautiful Mums for Mother’s Day this Sunday, and if you’re struggling for gift ideas, fear not! Here's a few fab, inspirational gift ideas that you still have time to order - by Wednesday evening for Standard Delivery and Friday for Next Day Delivery - with us here at H.Samuel!

My Mum adores candles. They’re pretty much all over the house...different sizes, colour co-ordinated, scented, and even floating in vases of water! If your mum is a candle-holic like mine, this beautifully decorated candle with a cute pink union jack symbol and colourful, quirky flowers would make a perfect gift this Mother’s Day. You can personalise the front with your own heartfelt message, so that every time she goes to light it she can be reminded of just how much she is loved by you.

If you think she’d prefer a more classic Mother’s Day gift, then perhaps opt for this timeless ‘Mum’ pendant with cut out heart detailing. Crafted in shining silver, your Mum could wear it with simply any style.

If your Mum is a fan of our blue nosed friend, this Tatty Teddy ‘Flowers for My Mum’ figurine would make a perfect gift for her this Mother’s Day. Tatty Teddy’s vase of colourful flowers and ‘Mum’ balloons would make an addition to her collection that she can cherish forever.

For Mums that love a bit of glitz and glamour, then give her a Mother’s Day gift that sparkles.  This silver and 9ct yellow gold wrap pendant is set with a glistening cubic zirconia, making a perfect addition to your mum’s elegant style.

All Mums deserve to feel extra special this Mother's Day. Let us help you say it better by giving her a beautiful gift from H. Samuel.

Step Up Your Game With Sport Watches

With the excitement of Sport Relief kicking off next weekend from 21st – 23rd March 2014, hundreds of thousands of people across the UK, including celebrities, have been getting active and raising money for the charity. Last month Davina McCall conquered her BT Sport Relief Challenge by running, cycling and swimming an awe-inspiring total of 500 miles and has so far raised over an incredible £760,000!

Whether you’re joining in the fun at the Sport Relief games or you’d just like to stay on track with your own personal sport, fitness or outdoor activity, wearing the right type of sport watch is the best way to monitor your personal targets. This week we're treating you to a special sport watch warm up, discussing just a few of the fantastic sport watches we have at H Samuel and why it's important to understand their features.

If you're after a watch to monitor your running or cycling activities, features such as timers, lap-chronograph and GPS make a great training accompaniment. We think the latest Ironman Run Trainer 2.0 by Timex would make a fantastic running partner, which also comes with a Flex Tech digital 2.4 heart rate sensor. This high-resolution grey resin strap watch features an easy-to-use menu system, vibrating alerts, hands-free and chronograph. Its GPS and interval timers allow you to measure your real-time distance, pace, speed and heart rate. It also offers a free desktop training software and free online access to a training log powered by TrainingPeaks for you to conveniently track your progress. The watch is also water resistance up to 50 metres and includes an INDIGLO® light if you'd prefer to run at night.

It's been announced that the loveable actor, presenter and former King of the Jungle, Joe Swash, will be running the London Mile for the Sport Relief Games. You too can put your best foot (or pedal) forward with this impressive Adizero digital chronograph watch by adidas Performance. The Adizero features 100-lap memory, time/interval and training timers, all displayed on a positive LCD dial. Its black vented PU strap makes a comfortable fit and perfect with any sports attire.

Despite having never climbed in her life, in just under 2 days time Alex Jones from the One Show will be attempting to bravely climb 1,200ft up the sheer-faced Moonlight Buttress in Zion National Park, Utah...terrifying! We sure hope Alex will be fully equipped with a robust timepiece such as the Pro-Trek resin strap watch by Casio. Designed for the outdoors in mind, the latest radio wave technology and solar powered timepiece is perfect for hiking and mountain climbing. Including an impressive array of features such as a compass for navigation, thermometer, world time, stopwatch, countdown timer, 5 alarms, auto illuminator light,100m water resistance and altimeter for altitude readings, which uses atmospheric pressure to help you to verify your location. Its barometer feature is also highly useful as it scientifically measures atmospheric pressure. With this tough and durable watch, you're all set for an outdoor adventure!

BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin will be making a splash at the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Swimathon, joining over 60,000 people who are already planning to take part across the UK in 1.5km, 2.5km or 5km Swimathons. Why not take the plunge yourself with this vibrant turquoise Timex Ironman resin strap watch with 100 metres water resistance and 250 lap TapScreen feature.
