Great British Mums

So this week we saw the anticipation finally over for the long awaited arrival of Baby Cambridge, Future King, Heir of the Throne, whatever you want to call him and whether you’re a royalist or not it was difficult not to get swept up into the whole excitement of the birth of the little baby Prince. I for one, was glued to my television screen waiting for a glimpse of the Duke and Duchess and of course their new arrival, who we now know to be named, Prince George Alexander Louis. With the media frenzy coming to a close and finally those precious images of the Prince revealed, it is now time to look towards the future at the excitement for what life holds for the Cambridge Family and here at H.Samuel it has got us thinking about all the new Mum’s & Dad’s out there who will be just as nervous as the new Royal parents.

With the prince being born in the month of July, this means that his birthstone will be Ruby. This vivid stone, much like the other birthstones, make for a truly special birthday gift. To celebrate Great British Mum’s we have 25% off all Ruby jewellery to ensure you can get a birthday gift your Mum will love. This silver and 9ct gold created Ruby heart pendant is a beautiful gift for any July birthday and a contemporary way to where the classic heart pendant.

For another gift that can easily be transformed into something special, a simple locket can make the perfect gift. By adding a photo or a message a locket is sure to be treasured forever and can be personalised to each individual and occasion. This vintage inspired scalloped locket complete with ornate floral detailing, and crafted from 9ct white gold rolled gold. This elegant locket is perfect for both day time and evening wear and is sure to make a memorable and loving gift.

A popular tradition after the birth of a first child is the gifting of an eternity ring. These symbolic rings are often given to a wife by her husband on a significant anniversary, however in more recent times, the eternity ring is given after the couple’s first child. When looking for an eternity ring, there are two types, half and full, the most common is half which boasts a row of glittering diamonds. They also come in many designs, some with elegant twists or the classic channel setting. This simple 9ct white gold diamond eternity ring is sure to sit perfectly against your wedding & engagement ring and add an extra dose of sparkle.

Now that the first images and the name of the Prince have been revealed, it is assumed that from now until his christening the new parents will lay low and concentrate on looking after their new son. Therefore, we may have a little wait until the next glimpse of Prince George, but until then christenings will be taking place all over the UK and what better way to mark the special day with a charming gift. Whether it’s a money box, a trinket box or the classic baby bangle, christening presents are truly treasured; even I still have a little silver bear money box and a bangle I was given on my christening all those years ago!

Okay, so I might be biased about this next one, but how cute is this? This adorable Me to You money box is wrapped comfortably in a white blanket marked with the words, ‘On your Christening’, and this little bear is sure to keep all those pennies safe and sound until perhaps that potential pony request?

To mark the birth of Prince George, here at H.Samuel we have a commemorative plate complete with his full name. This beautiful blue plate is perfect for celebrating the birth of the baby Prince and something you can treasure for years to come. This will be available to buy from next week.

It was only a year ago that I graduated from university and now it’s that time again, the memories are flooding back. All dressed up in your graduation gown and hat while your family and friends proudly take what feels like a hundred photographs as you walk up and collect your certificate, followed by a well deserved celebration.

With a new group of future graduates preparing to leave behind the stress of coursework and the dreaded dissertation to start their search for a career, as with most important milestones, it is traditional to reward their success with a gift. For someone who may be difficult to buy for, a keepsake is a sure-fire choice; something they can treasure forever and remind them of their achievement. This adorable ornament from Me to You features Tatty Teddy sitting proudly on top of the world clad in his graduation clothing and complete with certificate in hand. Whether this will be adding to their existing collection of or striking up a new one, Me to You offer unforgettable gifts full of character and sentiment.

Charm bracelets are a traditional choice for a gift and, in recent years, have re-blossomed with a whole host of new charm brands and types. Built up from charms and beads that represent special moments in life, this is one event that shouldn’t be missed from their collection. This simple sterling silver bead from Charmed Memories is a chic way to mark the occasion, as they can add their own choice of beads and create a combination of looks to suit their personal style. Add this to her existing collection or, if she isn’t already a collector, pair with one of Charmed Memories stylish bracelets to start her off.

Now that they have achieved a degree, it’s time to begin the tough search for a career, so of course they need the proper equipment. This beautifully feminine ballpoint pen with sparkling Swarovski crystals and vibrant fuchsia body will definitely make a good first impression that won’t be easily forgotten. Its chic appearance makes this pen an ideal gift for any occasion and, as the perfect handbag accessory, I’m sure the owner would find any excuse to use it.

Festival Fashion

Walking around in muddy fields and spending your nights in a tent may not sound very glamorous, but a single glance at this years Glastonbury crowd would make you think otherwise and certainly kicked off festival season with a bang! Mud and tents aside, it’s the fashion that caught our eye, from classic wellies and denim cut offs, to new and exciting looks, there was plenty of style inspiration, perfect for our own festival wardrobes!

Looking as equally glamorous off stage as she did on stage, Rita Ora broke classic festival style rules and wowed us with not one, but two unexpected outfit choices. She looked modern and chic in a white hat and figure hugging white and mustard dress, whilst for her second look opted for a right on trend two piece in the form of a matching lilac crop top and skirt. With her outfits a success, they couldn’t possibly be festival ready without a little bling and she did not let us down! Accessorised with stacks of bracelets, from chunky to delicate, Rita took this festival fashion favourite to the next level in statement gold. For a look bold enough to rival even Rita’s style, add this statement silver and gold plated bracelet from Petali Di Amore to your look for a dash of instant glamour and customise with other bracelets for a contemporary twist on a classic festival must have.

Ever since festivals began denim has been the material of choice.  It’s versatile, comfy and durable so it is no wonder that this season we’re seeing the denim trend grow even bigger. From coloured denim, patterned denim and the return of double denim, we are spoilt for choice.

Prince Harry’s girlfriend, Cressida Bona embraced the denim trend looking effortlessly stylish in 90’s inspired denim dungarees. For a quirky twist she finished her look off with crisp white high tops and a pair of neon green sunglasses. For a Cressida inspired take on a denim outfit, team a pair of wellies with a cute denim dress and complete the look with this vibrant green watch from Adidas

Another festival favourite comes from contrasting a vintage dress or some feminine florals against edgy accessories. Sienna Miller often favoures this style and this year she teamed a floaty floral dress with chunky studded biker boots. Our new brand Mikey London specialises in unique and glamorous jewellery and this sparkling crystal skull ring is the perfect statement piece to add a little sultry twist to this look.

What festivals are you heading to this Summer and what style will you be sporting? We can’t wait to dig out our wellies, floral prints and edgy accessories for a festival style to be proud of!

We’ll see you there! x
